Not if you want to play a saxophone with a clarinet mouthpiece. Lots of sax players use a clarinet embouchure---so why not?

I assume it gives your alto a slightly reedier, more woodwind-ish tone .

It also looks like the neck was lengthened. It was a pretty old horn, IIRC, so it's the attempt to make an HP/LP converter.

IMO, when you look at the small pic, it looks kinda like a flintlock pistol.
