Jeff was not only one of the most formidable rock/blues performers, but a stunningly knowledgeable fan of classic jazz.
He'll be sorely missed.

Here's a link to a video clip of Jeff's playing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBBCJ68mC4c), for those not familiar with him.

That's a shame. I remember buying his first album and heard some of his music on the radio just a couple of days ago and wondered what he was recording. He seemed like a good guy on top of being a great artist.

Hey guys,
I met Jeff I guess about 15 years ago when he was still a fairly regular fixture of the blues scene at Grossman's Tavern in Toronto (think the bar in Roadhouse but smaller and less classy). I was fortunate to have had the chance to jam with him on a couple of occasions there. The thing I remember most about him then was that, although he was an entirely easy-going individual--he had an incredible aura about him. You could just tell he was one of those truly special musicians. And, when Jeff would come into the club, everybody suddenly got better. It was really something to see.
RIP
Rory
