Hello! I thought I would introduce you to a very unusual band that I have been a member of for almost 30 years! The original Pendleton Round-Up Mounted Band was started in 1910, the same year as the rodeo. It died out sometime in the 30s. We restrted it at the Round-Ups 75th anniversary. What was supposed to be a one year deal is still going. There are several of us that have been in the whole time.
We have several fine musicians, but the music we can play is limited by our "seating arrangement" and the difficulty of getting everyone together for rehearsal. We play a few parades a year, our rodeo, and have travelled to Reno Rodeo and a couple of others. As you can imagine, travel is expensive for us and if we go far, we have to ride borrowed horses.
