I need help getting part of a basson unstuck

Okay, so I didn't know how to assemble a bassoon, and with me being stupid, I got a small tube with cork on it stuck in the larger hole. How do I get this out? I cannot take it to a shop, I am getting this out myself. Would cooling the cork be a possibility?

Do you have a community band in your area? You could ask the bandleader, they may have a bassoonist in their band. Other option may be one of the school band instructors. They possibly could help, or get you in touch with someone who could help for free.

Another option, and one would have to be careful so they don't damage the misplaced tenon. Use a pair of needle nosed pliers, to carefully grasp without bending the tenon or defacing it with the pliers. Grip it, give a very careful, gentle tug. If you are not as adept with hand tools, do you have a male friend who is handy with tools? If that person is a good mechanic, chances are that person could help remove it.

That tenon is in deep enough that without tools, there is insufficient material sticking out to be able to extract it using your fingers.

Good luck!

Thank you. I am working on it with my band directors when they have the available time. I have tried pliers, but the thing will not move. I can see if a director can get it.
