My old blog is partially back online at https://bassic-sax.info/Pete/photoblog. This includes the most popular page I had: Claude Laurent Crystal Flutes.
There are a lot of links that are bad. I'm slowly trying to fix this.
====
Technical info:
The main reason the blog was down is that the last backup I had was from 2019. The current PHP, MySQL, and Wordpress versions don't support a backup that old and I didn't want to build an entirely new webserver with all old stuff. However, AI bailed me out. I was just playing with Perplexity.ai and I asked it how I could restore a really old backup. Well, use XAMPP. It allows you to install all that server stuff on a local machine in about 5 minutes. I was then able to upload my old backups, spend about two weeks fixing settings, then update to the newest version of Wordpress. Upload to Helen's server and Bob's still my uncle.
Why I let the blog just lay dormant was because I had been playing a lot more with vintage computer keyboard repair. I'm still doing that, but not as frequently.
