ok ...in my exp this instrument is a nightmare to mic onstage. I know this is a sax-heavy forum & you crew can belt it out into a SM57 with no prob.
hthm (how the holey moley ) am I gonna get big-house level on this thing, ( let alone onstage monitor level !) when the reeds up here, the bells down there & all the vents are somewhere in the middle
assume good gear (incl condenser on a powered stage monitor) in a mixed ens: acoustic gits,vocals, keys, bass, trap set.
suggestions ???
