environmentally friendly lacquer stripping solution

Hey all,

I tried this on SOTW and thought I'd try here as well... anybody know of an environmentally friendly lacquer stripping solution? Or at least a less toxic and horrible way of doing it? I'd like to move to something completely non-toxic, but if no such thing exists perhaps I can at least choose the lesser of the evils.

Something that removes the older cellulose lacquer is probably what I would be using most, but sometimes I get a request to remove epoxy-based lacquer (usually from a relacquer) as well.

Thanks in advance!

I've had good luck with the orange smelling non-toxic stuff. It takes time but I found that 24 hours in the stuff generally does the trick.

I've heard this. Anybody ever tried it? Is it a pour-boiling-water-over-it type of deal or a firepit+tub+back 40 type of deal? I'm assuming this only works on celluose lacquer?

Yes. Dip half instrument at a time in large canning pot containing boiling water. Yes works on old cellulose lacquer.
